National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) conducts nationwide sample surveys on various socio-economic issues in successive rounds, each round covering subjects of current interest in a specific survey period. The organisation has four divisions :

     (i) Survey Design and Research Division (SDRD)
     (ii) Field Operations Division (FOD)
     (iii) Data Processing Division (DPD) and
     (iv) Co-ordination and Publication Division (CPD)
